Is The Mind Matters!! a magic show?
Not by definition, No, The Mind Matters!! is not a magic show. But the secrets you will learn about "HOW you LEARN" are magical. The Mind Matters!! is an exciting event! The Mind Matters!! offers the listeners secrets about learning. We talk about Dr. Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence--8 ways of learning. We are all unique.
Finding out HOW you learn best will enhance everything you do. The challenge for a student using the theory of multiple intelligence is in discovering how they learn best, they will learn any subject as quickly, as thoroughly and as solidly as possible.
Do you perform "tricks" during the show?
Kind of, yes. We--the audience and I--perform demonstrations, or, magic of the mind. The demonstrations are designed to punctuate and enhance the subject matter. While we discuss the 8 intelligences we perform demonstrations to bring the point home.
Who is John Cesta?
John Cesta is a Psychological Illusionist. Some may say a mind reader, some may say a magician.
John says, "I am a person whose taken an interest in lots of things in my lifetime and now it's time to share them with others."
- The purpose of my program is to "give people something to think about." Most people experience "lost opportunities" because they are unaware of what they are truly capable of--they hesitate to try new things. During The Mind Matters!! the audience will realize how exciting it is to try seemingly impossible things. As a result they will be more confident, gain courage, become fearless, and be able to tackle and overcome any obstacle or difficulty that comes their way. My performance is clean, fast-paced and humorous.
- I perform "Magic of the Mind" or "Sleight of Mind". I appear to read minds, predict the future, and influence other people's choices. These are demonstrations of the power of the mind, not a "magic" show!
- I involve as many people from the audience as possible. I make them the stars of the show by teaching them how to "do the impossible" with their minds. My goal is to amaze people...not challenge or offend them. I make fun of myself, not the people I invite to help during the performance.
- I claim no supernatural powers. I am comfortable explaining, after my performance, that what I accomplished was done by carefully combining principles of memory techniques, mathematics, psychology, communications, and the magical arts to create a series of mental "special effects".
John, self-employed since 1985, has worked as a professional drummer, a technology consultant and a professional entertainer. John's simple philosophy is to "give people something to think about!"
